Sunrise Andhra Pradesh Investment Meet (27-28 January, 2017)

The Andhra Pradesh Government in partnership with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) hosted the 2nd Sunrise Andhra Pradesh Investment Meet from 27th – 28th January, 2017 in Vishakhapatnam. The summit showcased India's growth story in alignment with global growth efforts, and the state of Andhra Pradesh, which has emerged as the fastest growing state in India and ranked No. 1 state in the country in terms of "Ease of Doing Business" by the World Bank and Govt. of India, displayed its immense investment opportunities across Industry, Infrastructure, Urban Development, Tourism, IT, Education, Healthcare etc. as well as opportunities in the Greenfield capital city of Amravati, being developed by the state.

2.         The two-day summit witnessed more than 2,000 delegates from all over the country and abroad, with about 350 foreign delegates from 50 countries. Deliberations were held on important issues relating to the Indian and Global economy in 11 sessions. Ministers from 8 countries including Nepal, Bangladesh, UAE etc. as also 8 Union Ministers attended the summit. Australia fielded a large delegation including members from Western Australia, which has an institutional linkage with AP.  Main sectors of the event are Agro and Food processing, Life Sciences, Textiles and Apparel, Electronics and IT, Aerospace and Defence, Automobiles and Auto components, petroleum, chemicals (including fertilizers) and petrochemicals.  Almost 1.17 lakh crores worth of MoUs were already grounded by the state. Andhra Pradesh is also working with a positive approach on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) envisioned by the United Nations.

3.         Chief Minister Mr.  N. Chandrababu Naidu made detailed presentation on Andhra Vision 2029 aimed to make the State a favoured destination in the world and to mould Amaravati into a futuristic city. He outlined that the state has a unique and unparalleled growth trajectory – achieving growth at 10.99% in FY 15-16 and 12.26% GSDP Growth Rate in Q1 of 16-17, top state in attracting Private Sector Investment, top state in terms of infrastructure and received the maximum Private Corporate Investments in 2015-16.
