Ambassador of India makes farewell call on the President of Turkmenistan

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India, Nagendra Prasad, who is completing the diplomatic mission in our country.

Expressing gratitude for the time for the meeting, the Ambassador noted that India fully supports Turkmenistan's policy of broad international cooperation, which is a key factor in promoting important international initiatives put forward by the Turkmen leader for the sake of strengthening the foundations of peace, stability and prosperity on a regional and global scale.
 
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highly appreciated the personal contribution of the diplomat to the strengthening of the productive inter-state dialogue established in recent years, which fully meets the fundamental interests of the two countries.

During the meeting, the Turkmen leader and the Indian diplomat exchanged views on various issues of bilateral cooperation, whose successful development is directly served by the proximity or coincidence of the positions of the two countries on key aspects of international and regional policy, their focus on the expansion of traditional trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties.

As it was mentioned, in recent years the Turkmen-Indian partnership has reached a new level, which meets the mutual interests, as evidenced by the agreements reached and visible successes in implementing large-scale joint projects, among which the construction of the transnational gas main Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan -India. The implementation of the TAPI project initiated by the Turkmen leader will give a powerful impetus to the economic growth of the countries of the region, a closer and more constructive dialogue in the interests of universal peace, security and sustainable development.

It was emphasized that the confidential nature of relations based on the commonality of historical and cultural roots makes it possible to form new directions for bilateral interaction. In this context, the importance was noted of the further intensification of exchange in the humanitarian sphere in order to study the historical and cultural heritage of the Turkmen and Indian peoples. The prospects of partnership in the scientific and educational sphere, the field of modern information technologies were also emphasized.

The Ambassador of India, sincerely thanking the Turkmen leader for the assistance he provided throughout the years in the work of the diplomatic mission he headed, said that Turkmenistan will always remember with great warmth, where he witnessed great transformations.

At the end of the meeting, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Ambassador Nagendra Prasad expressed confidence that the traditionally friendly Turkmen-Indian relations will continue to develop successfully for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries.
